1. Academic Excellence
Every institution improved its rank in the Academic Reputation indicator, while the University of Auckland, University of Otago, Massey University, and University of Canterbury all improved their Citations Per Faculty. While no NZ university features in the top 100 for Citations, the University of Auckland places 63rd worldwide for Academic Reputation.
2. Hub of Diverse Learning Experience
AUT, Lincoln, and Massey all jumped in global rankings, thanks to a surge in international student demand.
All 8 of NZ universities rank in the top 120 for global faculty, with 6 in the top 100.
Nearly perfect score: 99.9 for international faculty, second only to the UAE.
3. Sustainability
Three universities remain in the global top 100 for environmental, social, and governance impact. The University of Canterbury climbed 8 spots to 78th, one of only two in Oceania to rise this year
New Zealand, with an average score of 82.5, has secured a spot just behind Sweden, showing real strength in sustainable research and education.
